Soft Wheat Dinner Rolls

These soft and fluffy dinner rolls are perfect for beginner bakers. Made with Early Bird Farm & Mill's Hard White Wheat Flour, they have a mild, slightly sweet flavor and a light texture.

Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups Hard White Wheat Flour Early Bird Farm & Mill
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast 1 packet

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk about 110°F
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg beaten

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  • Pour in the warm milk, melted butter, and beaten egg. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  • Knead for 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
  • Punch down the dough, divide into 12 portions, and shape into balls. Place in a greased baking pan.
  • Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before serving. Optionally, brush with melted butter.

Notes

For extra flavor, add 1 tbsp honey to the wet ingredients. These rolls freeze well; store in an airtight bag for up to 2 months.
